The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved a Rs1.14 per unit reduction in the fuel price adjustment (FPA) for October, Express News reported.

According to a statement issued by Nepra, the Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guarantee (CPPA-G) had submitted a request for a decrease of Rs1.14 per unit under the FCA. The decision was announced today after a public hearing held on November 26, 2024.

The decision will apply to all consumers of Distribution Companies (DISCOs). However, the adjustment will not be applicable to lifeline consumers, prepaid users, electric vehicle charging stations, and K-Electric customers.

Earlier on Thursday, the country's power regulator approved distribution companies' (DISCOs) request for first quarterly adjustment of fiscal year 2024-25. After this approval, there will be a Rs0.20 per unit hike in the December 2024 bills of all consumers of DISCOS and K-Electric.

DISCOs had submitted a request for quarterly adjustments to Nepra, which conducted a public hearing on the first quarterly adjustment for the fiscal year 2024-25 on November 20.
