ISLAMABAD:

PTI founder Imran Khan on Wednesday announced a "grand gathering" in Peshawar on December 13 to "pay homage to the martyrs" killed during the party's recent rally in Islamabad.

The PTI claimed that at least 12 party supporters had died in Islamabad on Nov 27 at the hands of law enforcement agencies (LEAs).

In his latest message, shared on his X account, Imran lamented that party supporters had been killed "as a result of state terrorism", adding that a "dictatorship has been established in the country".

"Hundreds of our workers are missing," Imran said. "The Supreme Court should now take notice of this and play its constitutional role.

"We approached the Supreme Court, Lahore High Court and Islamabad High Court for serious violations of human rights, but no action was taken by the courts and the country has reached this point!" he added.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan stated that the PTI founder has not closed the doors on negotiations and has formed a committee to discuss the matter, Express News reported.

Speaking on the programme Centre Stage, he said, "If dialogue progresses, it's a good sign. In my personal opinion, dialogue is the only way forward; there is no other solution. No party wants to see Pakistan in ruins."

Khan revealed that he was not allowed to meet the PTI founder on Thursday and last met him on November 15. He also expressed disapproval of the government's recent actions against fake news, describing them as efforts to control the public through social media regulations.
