Kavon London Grant aka ‘Cuz’ files protective order motion in Lil Durk case ahead of trial
Kavon London Grant, also known as “Cuz,” co-defendant in the high-profile case involving rapper Lil Durk, filed a motion in federal court on December 3 requesting a protective order for sensitive evidence.
According to AllHipHop, Grant’s attorney, Peter C. Swarth, cited concerns that the release of certain materials, such as crime scene photographs, autopsy reports, and statements from protected witnesses, could endanger individuals involved in the case. The motion emphasized that public disclosure of personal information could lead to retaliation or intimidation.
The motion is part of an ongoing legal battle tied to the August 2022 killing of Lul Pab (born Saviay’a Robinson), a cousin of rapper Quando Rondo, in West Hollywood, California. Prosecutors claim that Lil Durk (real name Durk Banks) orchestrated the murder in retaliation for the 2020 shooting death of King Von, a member of Durk’s Only The Family (OTF) crew. Von was shot and killed in Atlanta by Timothy “Lul Tim” Leeks, an affiliate of Rondo.
According to federal indictments, Durk allegedly offered money and "lucrative music opportunities" to incentivize the murder of Robinson, deepening the longstanding feud between the two rap factions. Along with Durk, Grant and four other OTF members face charges of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, murder-for-hire resulting in death, and the use of a machine gun in a violent crime.
Federal investigators have also pointed to evidence suggesting OTF’s music label was used to fund travel and logistics for the alleged plot. The motion for a protective order highlights the high-stakes nature of the case, with both prosecutors and defense attorneys agreeing to safeguard sensitive information while allowing defendants to prepare for trial.
Lil Durk, arrested in October 2024 in South Florida, remains in federal custody and faces life in prison if convicted.
