Indian expat in Sharjah wins Dh25m in Big Ticket draw

Big Ticket announces guaranteed Dh30m prize for December with four additional more winners through weekly e-draws

An Indian resident living in Sharjah, Aravind Appukuttan, has won the grand prize of Dh25 million in the latest Big Ticket draw, held on Tuesday.

Initially unsure about the exact prize amount, Aravind, a salesperson who has been buying Big Ticket tickets for two years, was shocked by his good fortune. As the Big Ticket team finally reached him, they joked that the Sharjah resident, who was out shopping, "could now own a shop."

The 32-year-old expat, who plans to share his Dh25 million prize with 20 people, admitted he “did not expect” to win the grand amount.

Alongside Aravind’s win, the draw also saw the announcement of last month’s grand prize winner, Prince Sebastian, who had claimed Dh20 million on November 3 and as the previous winner, Prince was given the honor of selecting the ticket number for this month’s new millionaire.

In addition to the grand prize, the Big Ticket draw also featured a ‘Dream Car’ giveaway, with Harun Rashid, a Bangladeshi national living in Saudi Arabia, winning a BMW 840i.

The draw also included several other winners in the 'Big Win' contest.

Abdul Nazer from Kerala, India, won Dh100,000, while MD Mehedi, a construction worker, took home Dh50,000, which he plans to share with 17 others.

Akash Raj, also from Kerala, won Dh70,000 after initially picking a box containing Dh50,000 but opting for a second try and revealing the higher amount.

Similarly, Mohammed Haneff, who was flown in by Big Ticket, initially selected Dh30,000 but won Dh75,000 after making another choice.

Looking ahead, the Big Ticket draw operator has announced a guaranteed Dh30 million prize for December, along with four additional millionaire winners through weekly e-draws.

UAE residents have the chance to win cash prizes ranging from Dh20,000 to Dh150,000 by purchasing two tickets for Dh1,000 in a single transaction. These tickets will also automatically enter participants into the 'Big Win' contest, which will culminate in a final draw on January 1, 2025.

Additionally, participants will have a chance to win a Maserati Grecale during the January 3 live draw.
