Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri has found herself in the headlines amid a scandal involving her sister, Aliya Fakhri, who has become a prime suspect in the murder of her ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacobs.
The actress, known for her roles in Rockstar and Madras Cafe, has yet to publicly comment on the case. However, her social media activity has caught attention, as she shared a post featuring fellow Housefull 5 actors, amid the ongoing controversy.
The Instagram story posted by Nargis shows her with Housefull 5 co-stars Sonam Bajwa and Jacqueline Fernandez. The caption, “We are coming for you,” has since gone viral, drawing significant attention from fans and media alike.
The star-studded ensemble also includes Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Fardeen Khan, among others. The film, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, is scheduled for release on June 6, 2025, and reports indicate that a grand musical number is in the works to mark Housefull's 14-year anniversary.
While Nargis has remained silent on her sister's legal troubles, sources close to the actress have revealed details about the strained relationship between the two. "Nargis has not been in touch with her sister for over 20 years," an insider told India Today. "She learned about the incident through the news, just like everyone else."
Regarding the murder case, sources confirmed that Nargis was unaware of the accusations against Aliya before the media reports surfaced. Meanwhile, their mother, who vehemently denies the charges, has come to Aliya's defence.
"I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody," the mother told various outlets. Aliya Fakhri was arrested and is currently being held at Rikers Island, New York, following charges of murder.
Authorities accuse her of setting fire to a two-story garage, resulting in the deaths of her ex-boyfriend and another individual from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries. Aliya has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and she has been denied bail.
