The Islamabad Police have decided to take action against officers and personnel who were absent during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest at D-Chowk.
The decision comes after an operation by police and Rangers on November 26 that ended the PTI-led protest in Islamabad, reported Express News.
The Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad has issued a formal directive, instructing the preparation of a list of officers and personnel who failed to fulfil their duties during the protest. The order specifies severe penalties, recommending dismissal from service for those who were absent.
The PTI protest began on November 24, when PTI caravans set off from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to Islamabad. By November 26, the protestors reached D-Chowk, where security forces conducted a late-night operation to disperse the crowd and end the demonstration.
