Security forces killed five militants and captured two in a raid in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Lakki Marwat district, according to the Pakistan Army's media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operation, based on intelligence reports, took place on Wednesday in Lakki Marwat, where militants were believed to be operating. The military said that the targeted raid successfully neutralised the militant hideout.
An ISPR statement confirmed, "As a result of the operation, five militants were killed and two others were captured in a wounded state."
The army also stated that a clearance operation is ongoing in the region to eliminate any remaining militants. "Security forces remain committed to rooting out terrorism from the country," the statement added.
