The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a dip in temperatures in Karachi starting from Tuesday, as cold northeastern winds from Balochistan are expected to reach the city, leading to an increase in chilliness, Express News reported on Monday.

According to the PMD's Early Warning Centre, Karachi may experience stronger-than-usual winds from Balochistan’s eastern and northeastern directions on Tuesday and Wednesday. These winds are expected to cause a reduction in temperature and an increase in the coolness of the weather.

The minimum temperature on Wednesday could drop by 1.7°C compared to the recent readings, reaching a low of 16°C. Other districts in the province are expected to experience dry weather with chilly nights, while dense fog may occur in the morning hours in parts of upper Sindh.

Karachi Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz stated that the current south-western winds from the sea are being replaced by the northeastern winds from Balochistan, which are already bringing cooler nights.

Consequently, the nighttime temperature has dropped to between 17-18°C, down from 20°C, while the daytime temperature has decreased from 33°C to 31°C. He added that after December 6, temperatures could further dip to 16°C, and from December 10 onwards, the minimum could reach 14°C.
