The manager of a famous eatery near Hyderabad Railway Station was allegedly shot dead by his nephew on Sunday.

The suspect walked up to the cash counter pulled out a pistol, fired the fatal shot and walked away unchallenged in full public view around midday in the busiest area of the city.

Police have registered a case against the nephew of the deceased and his unknown accomplices.

According to the police, a person entered the Khyber Hotel located within the limits of Fort police station and shot 54-year-old manager Imdad Tanoli sitting at the counter in the chest and fled.

The manager died on the spot due to a bullet injury to the chest. On receiving information, the Fort police also reached the spot and transported the body to the Civil Hospital for postmortem, after which, it was handed over to the heirs.

As per the Hyderabad Police spokesperson, the preliminary investigation, eyewitnesses and important evidence indicate that the incident is a case of old enmity and the killer of the deceased is a young man, a close relative.

Fort police registered a murder on the complaint of the deceased's son Jaffar Tanoli Pathan, in which the deceased's son Jaffar stated that they had an old enmity with their close relatives residing in Karachi, including his cousin Naeemur Rehman, who was seen in Hyderabad recently.

"Naeem killed my father with the assistance of unidentified suspects due to enmity," said Jaffar in the FIR.
