VOSA announces internships for KU students
The University of Karachi organised a ceremony in collaboration with Voice of South Asia (VOSA) at the Department of Mass Communication.
Voice of South Asia has partnered with the department as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to plant trees at the back of the Department of Mass Communication. Under this project, 4,000 trees will be planted by WWF. In this regard, a simple yet dignified ceremony was organised at Sarwar Naseem Hall of the department.
The ceremony was hosted by the department's Chairperson Professor Dr Ismat Ara. CEO Voice of South Asia Zahid Rana attended the event as the chief guest along with the Karachi bureau team and expressed his love for the people of Pakistan.
He emphasised that he is dedicated to solving the problems of the local community and promoting social values. He announced a three-month paid internship programme for Mass Communication students, which will include digital news, international reporting, and freelancing platforms. The successful interns will be provided with a certificate from the US Bureau and potential future employment opportunities within the institution.
At the end of the event, Dr Ismat Ara expressed gratitude to Zahid Rana for supporting the tree plantation drive and starting the internship programme for students and presented him with a shield of appreciation from the Department of Mass Communication.
Later, Dr Ismat Ara also took Zahid Rana and his team to visit the TV studio, radio station, and computer lab, established in the department.
