Online bike rider commits suicide due to financial problems in Karachi

Zahid, who was unmarried, had reportedly been facing significant economic hardship which might have led to his despair

A 28-year-old man, identified as Ali Zahid, took his own life in Sachal Town, Karachi, after reportedly being distressed by financial and economic difficulties, Express News reported.

Zahid, an online bike rider, was found hanging by a nylon rope in his home in Block 5 of Safora Sachal Town. Additionally, a cut was found on his wrist, with blood pooling on the floor beneath him.

Police arrived at the scene following a tip-off, and with the help of volunteers from Chhipa, the body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for further investigation. According to Inspector Aurangzeb Khattak, SHO of Sachal Police Station, Zahid had been living in a rented house with two sisters and was struggling financially.

Zahid, who was unmarried, had reportedly been facing significant economic hardship, which might have led to his despair. He was last seen hanging from a ceiling hook after tying a nylon rope around his neck.

Preliminary investigations suggest that he may have slit his wrist before taking this drastic step, though police are continuing to gather information from his family to understand the full circumstances.

"Zahid's tragic death highlights the extreme pressures many face due to financial instability," said Inspector Khattak. "We are continuing to investigate the details surrounding this incident."

Police are also working with Zahid's family members to uncover more about his personal struggles and the events leading up to his death.
