Saheefa demands internet in the bathroom
Internet connectivity issues continue to plague the netizens of Pakistan amid a nationwide outage, and actor Sajeefa Jabbar Khattak is the latest to slip through the cracks and vent her frustrations on Instagram Stories.
"I'm serious, I want internet in the bathroom!" penned the Rafta Rafta actor in Roman English, unleashing her fury about how her cherished time alone had been affected. "It's a genuine problem!" In a euphemism for using the facilities, she added, "It's affecting the business!"
Saheefa lamented that the dip in the mercury had only exacerbated her woes. "It's already tortuous enough to enter the bathroom when it's cold, and now on top of that, the internet isn't working! What are people meant to do? Sit in the bathroom and self-reflect or look at the buffering?"
The actor's pleas from the heart did not end there. "Stop this please, for God's sake. A bathroom is a person's last sanctuary. Must we suffer bad internet there, too? I think as my next step, I will have to install a router in the bathroom now."
Saheefa rounded off her rant on a bitter note, noting that even baseline expectations in the country had been left unfulfilled. "When you demand the basics in Pakistan, life sends you an "Error 404" message," the starlet bitterly concluded.
The actor's rant caught the eye of her followers, one of whom managed to slip through the buffering to write, "You will die a slow death in the bathroom." Sharing a screenshot of the comment on her Stories, Saheefa shot back, "People like you don't deserve [the] internet!"
Saheefa is the latest in a spate of celebrities who have aired their grievances about the connectivity situation online. Earlier in the week, actors Nabeel Zafar and Faysal Quraishi likened the current speed of the internet to a "bride wearing a lehnga" and "legs after a gym workout".
