Ben Stiller reveals he's often mistaken for Adam Sandler, with fans praising Click
Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler, long-time friends and frequent collaborators, share a unique bond in Hollywood, but it seems that their on-screen chemistry sometimes causes confusion among fans.
Stiller recently revealed in an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he is regularly mistaken for Sandler, especially when fans approach him about the 2006 film Click.
“We’ve been friends for over 30 years,” Stiller said. “People often yell at us, and Adam will text me saying, ‘Someone in Italy told me, 'Ben Stiller, I love you!' or they'll shout ‘Click changed my life.’” Stiller humorously recounted how, when he corrects them, saying “I’m Ben Stiller, not Adam Sandler,” the response is often, “Who?”
The pair's friendship extends beyond just their comedy work. They've appeared together in several films, including The Meyerowitz Stories (2017), where they played brothers, and Happy Gilmore (1996), where Stiller's memorable role as a nursing home orderly left a lasting impression. Fans are eagerly awaiting their next collaboration in Happy Gilmore 2, where Stiller will reprise his role as Hal L., the troublesome orderly who misled Happy about his grandmother's care.
Both actors have seen their careers evolve, with Stiller also making his mark as a director, with the Apple TV+ series Severance, and starring in the upcoming Hulu holiday film Nutcrackers, releasing Nov. 29. Sandler, meanwhile, is preparing for Happy Gilmore 2, which will include additional star power with Travis Kelce and Benny Safdie joining the cast.
