Sindh Governor Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori has advised the female passing out students of Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) to make use of the degree they have acquired after lot of efforts and hard work instead of just keeping it in a showcase. Addressing the 14th convocation of the university as the Guest of Honor, the governor who is also the Chancellor of the university, also appealed the mothers, present in the convocation, that whether it is your daughter or daughter-in-law pursuing medical education, give them equal right to fulfill their duties, so that they sever the humanity and keep pace with the rapidly progressing world. He urged the students to become a source of pride for the country as well as for their families.
Earlier at the convocation degrees were conferred upon 2,523 students including four PhDs. The ceremony took place at the Ojha Campus Cricket Ground. Registrar, Dow University Dr. Ashar Afaq administered the oath to the passing out graduates. Vice Chancellor announced that the varsity would start three new programmes this year: Molecular Medicine, Forensic Science, and Cardiovascular Technology.
