Asmongold accuses LSF Reddit of targeting Kai Cenat, claims community wants him banned
Twitch streamer Asmongold has weighed in on the growing controversy surrounding Kai Cenat and the recent "hanging" prank orchestrated by magician Max Major during Cenat's Mafiathon 2 stream.
The stunt, which took place on November 27, 2024, quickly went viral and sparked intense backlash across social media platforms. While many defended Cenat, some high-profile streamers like xQc criticized him for allowing the risky prank to unfold.
Amid the uproar, Asmongold has directed his focus towards one of the most vocal groups criticizing Cenat: the LivestreamFail (LSF) subreddit.
Asmongold claimed that members of this influential Reddit community have long held a deep-seated dislike for Cenat and are now seizing the opportunity to call for his ban from Twitch.
"They are always waiting, waiting, they are like, 'Oh my god, please do something so that we can try to get you banned,'" Asmongold said.
"People are not getting sensitive, they just want to see somebody get banned because they don't like them. Like, LSF has hated Kai forever. They've always hated Kai. Every time there is a positive Kai post, everybody's like begrudgingly, 'Yeah, I guess he works really hard.' They f**king hate him."
The LSF subreddit, which boasts over 3.6 million members, is a well-known hub for discussions about streamers, often hosting a mix of both praise and criticism.
According to Asmongold, the community has been waiting for a controversy like the one surrounding the "hanging" skit to finally push for Cenat's removal from Twitch.
"They're just waiting for something, anything, to get him banned," he added.
The incident in question involved Max Major performing a "fake hanging" stunt during Cenat's Mafiathon 2 stream.
Although it was later revealed that the prank was pre-planned and that no harm was caused, many viewers were alarmed by the apparent danger of the stunt.
Some fans defended Cenat, suggesting that he was unaware of the full extent of the stunt, while others, including prominent figures like xQc, called for disciplinary action against Cenat for allowing the prank to take place.
As the situation continues to unfold, Asmongold has been outspoken in defending Cenat, accusing his critics of having a personal vendetta against him.
"They're just waiting for the chance to pounce," Asmongold said, adding that it was a case of "they don’t like him, so they’re going to try to get him banned."
Despite the backlash, Twitch has yet to take any action against Cenat, and he continues his Mafiathon 2 subathon, which is set to end on November 30, 2024.
