Pakistan’s seasoned left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir caught the limelight on Monday with a sensational bowling performance in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

Playing for New York Strikers, Amir played a pivotal role in his side's commanding 10-wicket victory against the home team.

Amir, who has been absent from Pakistan’s national squad since leading the bowling attack in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup earlier this year, delivered another remarkable spell, showcasing his exceptional skills.

Currently, Amir is joint-second on the list of leading wicket-takers in the tournament, boasting an impressive economy rate of 7.62 runs per over. His most notable contribution came in a must-win match for the Strikers, where he claimed three wickets, including the important scalp of England's Phil Salt, for just seven runs in his two-over spell.

Amir’s brilliant bowling effort was complemented by Sri Lankan opener Kusal Perera, who scored a rapid half-century, guiding the Strikers to victory without losing a wicket. The partnership between the two helped the team chase down the target effortlessly.

For his match-winning performance, Amir was named Player of the Match.

Speaking after the game, Amir reflected on the significance of the win. “This was a must-win game for us, and we’re still in contention now. We need to carry this momentum forward as it’s a short format with little margin for error. We performed as a team today, which is crucial with three important games ahead of us,” he said.
