Suspect arrested for murdering friend over financial dispute in Lahore
Gulberg police traced and arrested a suspect who killed his friend over a financial dispute using modern technology from Walton. According to SP Model Town, the suspect Abdullah Shahid was a close friend of the deceased, Ahsan Saleem, who was a manager at the Bank of Punjab in Gulberg.
Providing details, SP Model Town said that on the evening of November 22, the suspect called the deceased to Walton, stop number 27.
The suspect rented a Suzuki Wagon R car and drove with the deceased to Lahore's Defense Housing block.
During the return journey, the suspect demanded money from him which led to an argument. However, as the arguement escalated, the suspect shot the deceased in the head, killing him instantly.
SP Model Town Ikhlaq Ullah Tarrar revealed that the suspect hid the deceased’s mobile phone and wallet and dumped the body in a canal near Harbanspura at 10 p.m.
Later, the suspect used the deceased’s phone to demand Rs. 50,000 online from his wife, which raised her suspicion, leading her to call the police at 15 (helpline).
A special team was formed under the leadership of SHO Gulberg to lead the investigation.
A case has been registered against the suspect Abdullah Shahid and further investigation is underway.
The officer emphasised that those taking the law into their own hands will be dealt with strictly.
