Conor McGregor’s fiancée Dee Devlin defends him after losing civil sexual assault trial
Dee Devlin, fiancée of UFC fighter Conor McGregor, has broken her silence following his loss in a civil sexual assault trial.
McGregor, 36, was found liable and ordered to pay nearly €250,000 in damages to Nikita Hand, who alleged that he assaulted her in a Dublin hotel in 2018.
Posting on Instagram, Devlin passionately defended McGregor, writing, “I love him, I trust him, and I BELIEVE HIM!” She emphasized their strong family bond, sharing a photo with McGregor and two of their four children. She dismissed public opinions about their relationship, stating, “No one is entitled to comment... our family stands strong!”
In a fiery rant, Devlin criticized Hand, alleging the accuser sent inappropriate messages to McGregor while engaged in questionable behavior. Devlin also pointed to CCTV evidence, claiming it supported McGregor’s innocence.
McGregor, meanwhile, vowed to appeal the verdict but admitted to making “mistakes” in the past. Writing on X (formerly Twitter), he said, “As much as I regret it, everything that happened that night was consensual.” He added his commitment to move forward and focus on his career.
The fallout from the verdict has extended to McGregor’s business ventures, with major UK retailers, including Tesco and Asda, removing his Proper 12 whiskey and Forged Irish Stout from their shelves.
This case adds to the list of controversies surrounding McGregor, who has faced multiple accusations of misconduct, many of which have been dismissed. As McGregor and Devlin navigate the backlash, the fighter remains determined to restore his image and focus on his UFC return.
