Lyari Operation: Complete strike in parts of Balochistan
Office-bearers of nationalist party accused government functionaries of kidnapping and killing Baloch people.
QUETTA:
Following a search operation in Lyari and the kidnapping of local journalist and Baloch political worker, a complete shutter-down strike was observed on Monday in some parts of Balochistan. The strike call was made by the Baloch National Movement (BNM). The strike was reported to have been observed in Turbat, Mand, Hushab, Tump, Panjgur, Hub and other areas. A district correspondent for a local Urdu daily in Hub, Javed Naseer, was kidnapped from the IT Chowk in Hub, an industrial town in Balochistan. BNP leader Abdul Samad was also kidnapped by unidentified men two days ago. According to a statement issued by the BNM, the Baloch were being subjected to ‘arbitrary arrests’.
