High-level Belarusian delegation arrives in Islamabad

A high-level delegation from Belarus, led by Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzinkov, arrived in Islamabad on Sunday ahead of President Alexander Lukashenko’s official visit to Pakistan.

The delegation, which includes eight ministers and 43 business leaders, will hold key meetings and is expected to sign important agreements to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

The delegation’s arrival marks the beginning of a significant diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Belarus. The visit is seen as an opportunity to enhance cooperation across various sectors, including trade and defence.

Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly received at Islamabad’s Benazir Bhutto International Airport by Minister of Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, Ambassador for Belarus to Pakistan, Sajjad Haider Khan, and Additional Secretary for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan.

President Lukashenko is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Monday, where he will hold discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the country’s Chief of Army Staff. The talks are expected to focus on deepening bilateral ties and expanding economic collaboration.

During the visit, several crucial agreements are anticipated, including potential deals in business, trade, and defence, aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between Belarus and Pakistan.
