Food rider foils robbery, hands thief to police in Karachi

Food rider stopped robbery by alerting citizens, who helped catch the armed robber.

An online food rider with the assistance of local residents, captured a robber and handed him over to the police.

The incident took place near the Gulistan-e-Johar Chowrangi, located in the Shahrah-e-Faisal area, where the rider successfully foiled a robbery attempt.

A robber armed with a weapon tried to rob the food delivery rider, but the rider quickly raised an alarm, attracting nearby citizens to the scene, Express News reported.

The citizens caught the robber and subjected him to severe physical assault before informing the police.

The police arrived at the scene, rescued the robber from the citizens' custody, and took him to the station. This incident immediately gained attention in the area.

Earlier a father of nine children was killed for resisting robbery attempt near Scheme 33 Jamali Bridge in Sachal area of Karachi.

This incident brings the total number of citizens killed in robberies involving gunfire this year to 101.

The body of the deceased was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities, where he was identified as 61-year-old Syed Muhammad Anwar Shah, son of Shahat Shah, a resident of House No. 887, Dastgir Colony, Latifabad, Hyderabad.

Syed Zafar Shah, the brother-in-law of the deceased Syed Muhammad Anwar Shah, recounted the events that led to the fatal shooting.

Zafar Shah shared with the media that he and Anwar Shah were asleep on the upper floor of a workshop near Bando Khan Hotel when the incident occurred.
