Kane’s record-breaking hat-trick keeps Bayern unbeaten

Bayern Munich's Harry Kane secured a hat-trick, including two stoppage-time goals, to lead the Bundesliga leaders to a 3-0 victory over Augsburg on Friday.

The result not only marked Bayern’s sixth consecutive clean sheet across all competitions but also extended their lead at the top of the table to eight points.

The Bavarians remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga with 29 points, having now gone five league matches without conceding. Their nearest rivals, second-placed RB Leipzig, sit on 21 points and face Hoffenheim on Saturday.

Reflecting on the game, Kane, who has netted 14 league goals this season, said: "We said at half-time we should just keep going and create chances. Thankfully we got the penalty, and from there, the game opened up."

Kane’s remarkable form has seen him score 50 Bundesliga goals since joining Bayern last year, achieving the milestone in just 43 appearances—faster than any player in the league's history.

Bayern now face a demanding schedule, beginning with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday, followed by a Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund, and concluding with a German Cup last-16 tie against holders Bayer Leverkusen on 3 December.

"We’ve got a big week ahead with PSG, Dortmund, and Leverkusen. We’re in a good moment, feeling good, and need to keep the momentum going," Kane remarked.

During the first half, Bayern dominated possession, controlling over 70% of the ball, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Augsburg's goalkeeper, Nediljko Labrovic, made crucial saves to deny Kane, Jamal Musiala, and Leon Goretzka, with Goretzka also hitting the crossbar early in the second half.

Labrovic continued to impress, stopping Michael Olise in the 51st minute, but was finally beaten in the 63rd when Kane converted a well-taken penalty.

A second penalty was awarded to Kane during stoppage time after a VAR review confirmed that Augsburg’s Keven Schlotterbeck had fouled him in front of goal, leading to Schlotterbeck’s dismissal.

Kane calmly slotted the ball past Labrovic again before completing his hat-trick moments later, expertly controlling a Leon Goretzka cross with his first touch before heading it in.
