RAWALPINDI:

Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir on Friday said that the army, in collaboration with other law-enforcement agencies (LEAs), would relentlessly hunt down the enemies of peace, and dismantle hostile terrorist networks, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Gen Asim visited Peshawar, as a follow-up of the recently-held National Apex Committee meeting and prelude to the Provincial Apex Committee meeting to be held soon. Upon his arrival, the army chief was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar.

General Asim received a briefing on the prevailing security situation and the progress of ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region during the visit. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was also present, the ISPR said.

"Paying profound tribute to the Shuhada and Ghazis, the COAS emphasised the unparalleled sacrifices being rendered for the defence of the motherland. He remarked that these sacrifices served as a cornerstone of national resilience and unwavering dedication of the armed forces and of law enforcement agencies," the ISPR statement read.

"The COAS commended the high morale, operational readiness, and unyielding commitment of the troops in effectively countering all forms of threats. He reiterated the Army's firm resolve to dismantle hostile terrorist networks and eradicate the illegal spectrum undermining national security," it added.

Highlighting the collective determination of the nation and its security forces to combat terrorism, the Army Chief Gen Asim Munir stressed that thwarting the nefarious designs of the inimical elements remained a top priority.

"Through synchronised and robust operations, Pakistan Army in collaboration with Law-Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) will relentlessly hunt down the enemies of peace to ensure lasting stability and security," he assured.
