Transfer: MPA admonished over unlawful use of power

LHC reprimanded a PML-N MPA for influencing a junior clerk’s transfer in the Communication and Works Department.

LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court on Monday reprimanded a PML-N MPA for influencing a junior clerk’s transfer in the Communication and Works Department.

Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry was hearing a petition by Faizullah Bhatti, a resident of Hafizabad, who said he had worked in the district office in Hafizabad until MPA Asadullah Bhatti unlawfully directed the authority concerned to issue his transfer orders.

The court summoned the concerned executive district officer and ordered him to withdraw the transfer orders.

The court also admonished MPA Bhatti and warned him to be careful in future lest he lose his assembly seat.

MPA Bhatti tendered an unconditional apology, which the court then accepted.
