Rapper Lil Frank sentenced to 40 years for crash that killed pregnant woman

Milwaukee rapper Lil Frank receives 40-year sentence after high-speed crash kills pregnant woman and her unborn child.

Milwaukee rapper Frank Mosley, known as Lil Frank, was sentenced to 40 years in prison with an additional 10 years of supervised release for his role in a fatal car crash.

The November 2, 2023, incident claimed the lives of 32-year-old Erin Mogensen and her unborn child during a high-speed police chase.

Mosley faced charges of first-degree reckless homicide, first-degree reckless homicide of an unborn child, hit-and-run involving death, and fleeing/eluding an officer. A jury found him guilty on all counts. Milwaukee County Judge underscored the severe consequences of Mosley’s actions, emphasizing the irreparable harm caused to the victims and their family.

The crash occurred near 100th and Capitol when Mosley fled a traffic stop in a reportedly stolen BMW. Wauwatosa officers pursued the vehicle briefly before calling off the chase. Moments later, Mosley’s car, traveling at speeds of up to 116 mph, slammed into Mogensen’s vehicle as she entered the intersection.

Mosley fled the scene on foot, leaving Mogensen to die at the crash site. Investigators later determined the BMW slowed to 78 mph just before impact, despite a posted speed limit of 35 mph.

Following the crash, investigators traced evidence from the abandoned BMW to Mosley. A Walmart receipt found in the vehicle led police to surveillance footage showing Mosley entering the store, identifiable by a distinctive clock tattoo on his hand.

Further investigation at a home linked to Mosley uncovered burnt clothing in a backyard grill and a BMW key fob inside. Mosley was arrested at the residence but claimed someone had stolen the car from him, offering no explanation for its presence at the scene.

The sentencing highlights the devastating consequences of reckless driving and high-speed pursuits. Sheriff officials condemned Mosley’s actions, which not only took two lives but also traumatized the community. The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of fleeing law enforcement, particularly in densely populated areas.
