Mac Miller’s long-rumored album ‘Balloonerism’ set for release in January 2025

Mac Miller’s estate announces ‘Balloonerism,’ featuring SZA, releasing January 17, 2025, honoring his legacy.

Mac Miller’s long-anticipated album Balloonerism is officially set for release on January 17, 2025, as confirmed by his estate.

The announcement followed a teaser at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival, showcasing animated visuals and snippets of tracks such as “The Song That Changed Everythi ” featuring SZA, and “5 Dollar Pony Rides.”

Originally created during the era of Miller’s 2014 mixtape Faces, Balloonerism was described as a priority project for the rapper. However, it was shelved in favor of later works like GO:OD AM. Miller’s estate shared that releasing the album honors his fearless creativity and musical talent, particularly as unofficial versions have circulated for years.

The album features artwork painted by Alim Smith, a piece personally requested by Miller before his passing. Fans can look forward to multiple formats of the release, including deluxe vinyl and cassette editions.

Since his tragic passing in 2018, Mac Miller’s work has continued to inspire, with Swimming and the posthumous Circles further cementing his legacy. Balloonerism promises to celebrate the rapper’s experimental artistry while offering fans another piece of his remarkable journey.
