Kundi to call APC on security
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has announced to convene an all-parties conference in the first week of December to discuss the security situation in the province.
This announcement was made by the governor in his video message on Thursday. He stated that the APC will be held in the first week of December in K-P, where all political parties will be invited. The conference will take place at the Governor's House.
Kundi mentioned that since he assumed the position of governor, he has consistently pointed out that the security situation in K-P is less than favourable. He has written a letter to the PM Shehbaz Sharif, held meetings with him, and also met with the president.
However, he criticised the provincial government's irresponsible attitude towards the issue. He said that while the K-P regime is busy organizing rallies and protests in Islamabad for the release of their founding chairman, they have handed over the province to terrorists.
"The government has failed to protect the lives and property of the people, which led me to decide that an APC will be held in the first week of December. This conference will gather all political parties to discuss the province's security, its resources, and issues with the federal government, and to present the province's case with evidence and arguments."
He also pointed out the tragic situation where, on a daily basis, military personnel, FC soldiers, and innocent civilians are being killed. "Yet the provincial government remains criminally silent, which raises a serious question."
He emphasised that no meeting has been called by the provincial cabinet or the provincial assembly on this issue, and he believes it is now necessary to bring together all political forces to address the problems of K-P.
