RAWALPINDI:

A man allegedly shot and killed his friend in the jurisdiction of Race Course police station on Thursday.

According to the police, Qaiser Mehmood, a resident of Railway Scheme No. 7, reported that his nephew Tayyab Faisal was at home with other family members when his friend Muhammad Yousuf, a resident of Fauji Colony, called him to meet at Westridge Marquee. Faisal went there and shortly afterwards, the family was informed that Faisal had been shot and was at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ). Faisal had already died by the time the family reached the hospital.

The family said they had previously prohibited Muhammad Yousaf from keeping any relationship with Faisal. They suspect that Muhammad Yousuf, along with another accomplice, invited Faisal to meet him and then killed him. The motive behind the killing has yet to be ascertained.

The family members said that the victim was a first-year student. On the other hand, the police said that a case has been registered after conducting the post-mortem of the deceased. Further investigation is ongoing.
