Smuggled electronics, seized concealed in second-hand clothes
Customs officials have seized smuggled computers, electronic and other goods worth millions of rupees that were hidden in a consignment of second-hand clothes.
Based on intelligence from sensitive agencies, a container leaving the Karachi International Container Terminal (KICT) was stopped and searched at the RCD Highway.
According to Deputy Collector Enforcement, Raza Naqvi, the search led to the recovery of 2,720 computers, 20,200 LCDs, and 440,000 foreign-made cigarette cartons. The seized goods are valued at over Rs78.8 million, Express News reported.

Following the operation, a case was registered under the Customs Act, and the smuggled goods were confiscated. The goods have been transferred to the Customs ASO warehouse, where further investigations are underway.
Smuggled heavy bikes seized in DHA raid
Pakistan Customs Enforcement Karachi had earlier this week recovered smuggled heavy bikes and non-customs paid vehicles worth Rs550 million and Rs5.1 million respectively.
Pakistan Customs Enforcement Karachi conducted raids in three different areas under anti-smuggling campaign. Based on information from a sensitive agency, customs enforcement conducted raids at the warehouses of Saddar, DHA Phase I and Malir Cantt.
Deputy Collector Customs Enforcement Raza Naqvi told The Express Tribune that smuggled heavy sports bikes and non-customs paid vehicles were recovered from two warehouses in Saddar and DHA Phase I. The smuggled 37 heavy bikes are worth Rs107.6 million rupees while 21 non-customs paid vehicles worth Rs264.2 million were recovered from Malir Cantt.
He said that recovered motorcycles and vehicles have been transferred to the Customs ASO warehouse.
