ABBOTTABAD:

The federal government has redrawn the territorial boundaries of the newly established Hazara Electricity Corporation (HESCO), removing the Kohistan districts and attaching them to Swat, leaving HESCO with only Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Battagram, and Torghar.

A new license for HESCO will be issued based on this updated jurisdiction.

HESCO's Hydro Union Chairman Jamil Akhtar Tanoli reacted to the move by NEPRA (National Electric Power Regulatory Authority), calling on the federal government to maintain Hazara's original boundaries.
