Halle Berry’s boyfriend Van Hunt to testify in custody battle with ex-husband Olivier Martinez
Halle Berry’s ongoing custody battle with ex-husband Olivier Martinez is heating up as the actress prepares to call her boyfriend, Van Hunt, to testify.
According to court documents, Berry, 58, plans to address Martinez’s alleged interference with their son Maceo’s growth and therapeutic process. Hunt, 54, is expected to discuss his communications with Martinez and Berry’s coparenting efforts.
Martinez, also 58, has listed his own witnesses, including a former employee of Berry’s, who reportedly plans to testify about her observations of Maceo and interactions with Berry. The legal dispute stems from accusations of non-compliance with coparenting therapy and unilateral custody decisions by Martinez.
The couple, who divorced in 2015, currently share joint legal and physical custody of their 11-year-old son. However, Berry is seeking sole custody, citing Martinez’s refusal to cooperate with therapy involving Hunt, whom she says plays a significant role in Maceo’s life.
Martinez has accused Berry of using her wealth to prolong the legal fight and requested $360,000 in legal fees. A judge has tentatively ruled Berry must pay $217,174 after accounting for mutual sanctions. The case remains ongoing, with a custody hearing scheduled next month.
