Bollywood’s perfectionist Aamir Khan is set to return with the sequel to his iconic film Taare Zameen Par—Sitaare Zameen Par, which is eagerly awaited by audiences.
Aamir Khan, following a two-year gap since his last film Laal Singh Chaddha, will make his grand comeback to the big screen this Christmas.
According to Indian media reports, Sitaare Zameen Par is an official Hindi remake of the 2018 Spanish film Campeones (Champions). Directed by R.S. Prasanna, the film stars Aamir Khan, Genelia D'Souza, and Darsheel Safary in key roles.
The film will focus on the serious issue of Down syndrome, a theme similar to the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, which highlighted dyslexia.
In the original Taare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan played the role of an art teacher, Ram Shankar Nikumbh, who helps a student, Ishaan Awasthi, overcome dyslexia and unlock his hidden potential.
Ishaan’s character was portrayed by child star Darsheel, who will also play an important role in the sequel Sitaare Zameen Par.
