Miss Universe fans celebrate 'end of wokeness' credit 'Trump Effect' as Miss Denmark wins 2024 crown

Trump supporters claim her victory signals the return of traditional values under the so-called "Trump effect."

Miss Universe fans are divided following the crowning of Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, 21, from Denmark as the 73rd Miss Universe. 

Theilvig's victory at the glamorous finale in Mexico City on Saturday has been hailed as a return to tradition, with many dubbing it "the end of wokeness."

Theilvig, a professional dancer and entrepreneur, triumphed over more than 120 contestants to claim the coveted title. 

Fans have linked her victory to the so-called "Trump Effect," celebrating the pageant’s decision to crown a biological woman. 

Social media buzzed with comments like, "Trump wins and a woman finally wins Miss Universe. The world is healing," and, "It’s the Trump Effect in action."

Supporters credited former Miss Universe Organization owner Donald Trump for restoring what they see as traditional values to the pageant. 

One enthusiastic fan tweeted, "We even have a real woman as Miss Universe 2024. Thank you, President Trump, for bringing back sanity to the world!"

Theilvig, who was appointed Miss Universe Denmark in September, is the first Danish contestant to win the title. 

She will spend the next year advocating for humanitarian causes and representing the organization at global events. 

Alongside a $250,000 annual salary, Theilvig will live in New York City and enjoy perks including a $5.5 million diamond crown and access to luxury brands.  

Despite the praise, critics highlighted the controversy surrounding the absence of transgender contestants in this year’s competition. The 2023 pageant featured two transgender participants, sparking debates over inclusivity and tradition.  

While fans like one social media user declared, "Wokeness is officially over," others pointed out that Theilvig’s win may signify a deliberate shift away from progressive values under new pageant ownership.  

Theilvig, who holds a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing, has been a prominent figure in the pageant circuit for years. 

She previously placed in the Top 20 at Miss Grand International 2022 and founded a jewelry business at the age of 16. Known for her passion for animal rights, Theilvig has already begun leveraging her platform for advocacy.  

As the debate around her victory continues, Theilvig expressed gratitude for the opportunity, telling fans she is "honored to represent Denmark and bring this title home."
