The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has declined the resignation of former Test cricketer Mohammad Yousuf, who recently stepped down from his role as a selector for the Pakistan national team.
According to media reports, there is a possibility that the board may offer him new responsibilities, including two or three new positions within the PCB.
It is also anticipated that the PCB will reach out to former cricketer Abdul Razzaq for future roles as well.
Recently, Mohammad Yousuf had announced his resignation from the position of national team selector, citing personal reasons for stepping down.
In his statement, Yousuf expressed his pride in having served the national team and contributing to the development of cricket.
Mohammad Yousuf is widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s most successful batsmen.
During his career, which spanned from 1998 to 2010, he scored 7,530 runs in Test cricket and 9,720 runs in One Day Internationals.
In 2006, he achieved the remarkable feat of scoring 1,788 runs in a calendar year, a record for most runs in a calendar year in Test cricket.
