One person died and 12 others sustained injuries when a passenger van they were travelling in plunged into a ditch near the Nasirabad bridge in the Mayachhar area of Nagar in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) on Sunday.
According to a Rescue-1122 spokesperson, 18 people were travelling in the van. It went out of driver's control because of high speed and fell into the ditch near the Nasirabad Police Check Post.
The spokesperson said police mounted the rescue operation. One person died on the spot, while 12 others, including women and children, were injured and taken to Sikandarabad Hospital. The seriously injured were shifted to Gilgit, he said.
