The Rawalpindi Civil Defence Department has cracked down on establishments violating safety and regulatory standards, targeting marriage halls, petrol stations, and businesses illegally filling gas cylinders.
Two marriage marquees were sealed in response to breaches of the one-dish policy.
Four petrol pumps and CNG stations were also shut down for lacking fire extinguishers, and six shops engaged in illegal gas filling were closed.
Following public complaints, Safari Market on KRL Road was sealed, and a case was filed against the manager. Another marquee in Rawalpindi faced closure due to similar violations, while the Civil Defence teams expanded their operations against businesses illegally handling gas cylinders.
This campaign intensified after requests from the deputy commissioner and the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), with cases filed against four offending shops and agencies, and three cases related to non-compliant petrol stations and CNG outlets.
District Officer Civil Defence Talib Hussain emphasised a "zero-tolerance" policy for one-dish violations and illegal gas cylinder filling, with enforcement underway across Rawalpindi Division.
