Florida-based cruise line offers 4-year global escape for travelers looking to skip Trump’s term
Florida's Villa Vie Residences has launched a four-year "Skip Forward" cruise program, targeting travelers wishing to escape the political climate following Donald Trump’s second presidential term. The initiative provides an extended global voyage option for those seeking respite from domestic politics. Starting at £40,000 annually, the cruise allows passengers to explore international destinations while living aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey.
CEO Mikael Petterson addressed the cruise’s appeal during uncertain times, telling Fox News, “We may have differing political views, but our community comes together through our passion for exploring the world in a very real way that goes far beyond politics.” He clarified that while the timing coincided with Trump’s re-election, the program was not politically motivated. Instead, it was designed to offer an innovative lifestyle choice for those unsettled by recent events.
Passengers can select from various packages, including a one-year "Escape from Reality," a two-year "Mid-Term Selection," or a full four-year "Skip Forward" journey. Prices for shared accommodations start at £159,999, while single-occupancy cabins are available at £255,999. Sales head Anne Alms emphasized the experience's appeal, noting, “Your villa is your bedroom, and the ship is your home. She’ll take you across the globe to endless horizons.”
The cruise’s launch follows significant vessel refurbishments to the Villa Vie Odyssey, formerly the MS Braemar, ensuring passenger safety and comfort. The program has drawn attention from those seeking a temporary escape from U.S. political divides while offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the world.
