'Festivals vital for promoting national unity'

Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Sindh and Punjab during his visit to the Lok Virsa Festival, emphasising that festivals are vital for promoting unity, entertainment, and healthy recreation for all. The governor visited the Sindh and Punjab pavilions, where he was presented with a traditional Sindhi Ajrak and cap.

During his tour, he inspected artisan stalls showcasing the intricate craftsmanship of both provinces, commending the dedication and talent of the artists.

Sajjad Hussain, Director of the Rawalpindi Arts Council, welcomed the governor to the festival, which drew large crowds from across the country.

Expressing his delight, Governor Khan remarked, "Lok Virsa reflects the unity of our nation, with joy and vibrancy visible on every face. Festivals like this are essential for fostering love, brotherhood, and tolerance in our society."

The governor also acknowledged the overwhelming public response, even noting the traffic congestion caused by the turnout.

He urged the revival of traditional fairs and events to bridge cultural divides and provide a platform for community bonding.

The Lok Virsa, celebrated as a hub of folk heritage, showcases Pakistan's diverse traditions, reminding attendees of the shared legacy and vibrant spirit of its people.
