Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson, one of Hollywood's beloved couples, are reportedly living separately and trying to navigate a potential separation, sources told Us Weekly. Speculation about their marriage surfaced earlier this month after both were seen without their wedding rings.

According to an insider, Simpson, 44, and Johnson, 45, are “trying to figure out a separation without disrupting their kids’ lives as much as possible” while remaining committed to co-parenting their three children: Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5.

“Jessica is heartbroken,” a third source shared. “This has been an incredibly difficult time for her. The decision wasn’t easy.”

Simpson and Johnson, who tied the knot in 2014, appeared to have a strong bond in previous years. Simpson described her relationship with Johnson in glowing terms during a 2020 interview with Us Weekly, calling him her "true mind, body, and soul connection."

However, recent months have raised questions about their relationship. Eagle-eyed fans noticed Simpson without her diamond wedding ring in Instagram photos, and Johnson was recently spotted in Los Angeles without his band. Despite a family trip to Cabo San Lucas in April, rumors about marital troubles persisted.

Jessica’s sister, Ashlee Simpson Ross, denied the rumors during a recent interview with TMZ. However, insiders suggest that the couple is focused on their children’s wellbeing rather than addressing public speculation.

“They are committed to ensuring the kids are happy and well-adjusted,” a source explained.

Neither Simpson nor Johnson has publicly commented on the rumors or confirmed the separation. Representatives for the couple did not respond to requests for comment.
