Smog disturbs flight, train operations in Punjab

The smog in Lahore disturbed the flight and train operations, officials said on Friday.

Over 20 incoming and outgoing flights were delayed at Lahore Airport. More than 11 flights scheduled to take off from Lahore were delayed, while one inter-city flight was delayed.

In addition, over eleven flights scheduled to land at Lahore Airport

were delayed due to thick smog.

The Doha-bound flight PK-279 was delayed for seven hours, Kuwiat-bound flight PK-239 for 6 hours, Dubai-bound flight EK-623 for 10 hours, Riyadh-bound flight XY-318 for 7 hours and Jeddah-bound flight PF-716 for 3 hours.

Besides, the train operation was also hit by smog as Lahore to Karachi bound Shalimar Express was delayed for an hour.

According to Divisional Superintendent Office Pakistan Railways, passenger facilitation staff would be available round-the-clock to guide and facilitate passengers.
