Pindi police crack blind murder mystery
Police have solved the case of a mysterious murder that occurred two weeks ago in Gujar Khan, revealing the involvement of a former female friend of the victim, her mother, and five accomplices.
According to police, the accused allegedly lured the victim, identified as Qaiser Shahzad, to Gujar Khan, where they tortured him to death, fearing he might attempt to rekindle their relationship. His body, bearing signs of severe torture, was discovered under a bridge in Gujar Khan. Shahzad, a resident of Beri in district Chakwal, had been working at Koh-e-Noor Textile Mills in Guliana.
A police team led by SHO Gujar Khan used modern technology to identify Konain Zahra, her mother Maroof, and a man named Asim as primary suspects. Investigators revealed that Zahra had ended her relationship with Qaiser some time ago and had since become involved with Asim. Fearing that Qaiser could blackmail them, the group allegedly drugged, tortured, and ultimately killed him, dumping his body in Gujar Khan.
Police have arrested Zahra, her mother, Asim, Fayyaz, and four other accomplices in connection with the crime. Rawalpindi CPO Khalid Hamdani directed all officials concerned that all legal measures be taken to ensure justice for the victim.
