Lady Gaga has officially joined the cast of Netflix’s hit series Wednesday for its upcoming second season, sources confirm. The casting choice comes after her 2011 track "Bloody Mary" went viral among fans, who synced the song with lead actress Jenna Ortega’s dance scene in season 1.

Although details on Gaga's character and role size are still being kept under wraps, the star is currently filming her scenes in Europe, hinting at a highly anticipated storyline that aligns with Ortega’s own previous wish to work with Gaga on the show.

Ortega, who debuted the Addams Family-inspired series in 2022, had mentioned a potential storyline for Gaga at the Golden Globes in January 2023, envisioning her as a "monster who understands" Wednesday’s journey. With Gwendoline Christie, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Christina Ricci reprising their roles, season 2 is poised to continue Wednesday’s growth as both a student and budding psychic at Nevermore Academy.

In addition to her acclaimed roles in A Star Is Born, House of Gucci, and Joker: Folie à Deux, Gaga has extensive experience in television, having won a Golden Globe for American Horror Story. Gaga is also working on her seventh solo album, with a lead single "Disease" and live “Antidote” edition captivating fans ahead of the album's release in February 2025.
