Mother of five killed by husband

A mother of five was slaughtered allegedly by her husband over an extramarital affair with another man in Shah Latif Town on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. Police recovered the body of the victim, identified as 43-year-old Parveen, with her throat slit and shifted it to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

According to Inspector Mumtaz Marwat, SHO Shah Latif police station, Parveen had sent her children to her native village in Larkana three days ago and was alone at home with husband at the time of the incident. The family had rented the ground floor of the double storey house, while the landlord lives on the first floor.

While quoting the landlord, the SHO said that he came downstairs and found the woman lying in a pool of blood. He reported the incident to police on Madadgar 15 helpline. "A police team rushed to the site and found the woman on a cot with her head severed," he added.

Forensic department experts were called in to collect evidence from the crime scene. During the search of the house, police found the victim's husband, identified as Ali Hasan Sheikh, hiding in the backyard. The suspect's clothes were stained with blood, while a sharp knife was also recovered from him which, police believe, was used to slaughter the woman. According to the SHO, Sheikh has confessed to murdering his wife because she allegedly had a love affair with a young man named Noman. Sheikh alleged that he decided to kill his wife after she disregarded his repeated warnings against meeting Noman.
