Standard medical treatment is villagers' right: CM
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that good treatment, medicines and tests are the right of those living in the villages too and all resources will be spent on the welfare of people.
She said in a statement that free treatment at the doorsteps of more than 5.3 million patients across Pinjab had been provided in the past 148 days and the number of Field Hospitals and Clinics on Wheels would be increased to ensure convenient service to the people.
The chief minister said the government would endeavor to provide treatment facilities at the doorstep of every citizen.
"We are monitoring daily the performance of the Clinic on Wheels and Field Hospital projects. On average more than 30,000 patients benefit from the clinics every day. Medical consultation, tests and ultrasound facilities are also available at the Clinics on Wheels," she said.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said 202 clinic vans and 42 ultrasound vans were providing services in semi-urban and congested areas across Punjab, including 15 clinics and three ultrasound vehicles in Lahore.
In addition, more than 736,000 people have received treatment from the field hospitals in remote areas.
