Martha Stewart pushes away Drew Barrymore during touchy-feely interview moment

Martha Stewart had an awkward moment with Drew Barrymore during a recent interview, when the talk show host’s touchy approach led Stewart to physically push her away. 

As Barrymore asked Stewart if anything made her feel “soft and gooey,” she stroked Martha’s arm in an attempt to break the ice. Stewart responded with a laugh, telling Barrymore she was "the wrong gender" to evoke those feelings, sharing a playful moment with the audience.

This is not the first time Barrymore’s interview style has raised eyebrows; in December 2023, she was criticized for her close interaction with Oprah Winfrey. Though Oprah later defended her, calling her "endearing," the incident drew attention to Barrymore’s tendency for physical interaction with guests. Barrymore promised in August to maintain more personal space during interviews, but the promise seemingly faltered during this latest interaction with Stewart.
