Boy injured in firework explosion at bookshop
A 12-year-old boy was injured in an explosion of fireworks.
The Ghulam Mohammadabad police reached the spot and started investigation.
Police said Sulaiman Abdul Rasheed, the owner of a bookshop, kept firecrackers in his shop located in the main market area of Ghulam Mohammadabad police station.
The firecrackers suddenly went off injuring 12-year-old Omer Daraz Hayat, a resident of Mohalla Qudratabad.
He was shifted to General Hospital Ghulam Mohammad Abad after receiving medical aid. Police officers reached the spot after receiving the information and started raids to arrest Sulaiman, the owner of Book Depot.
Meanwhile, a woman died on the operation table after reportedly being given the wring procedure.
Fauzia, wife of Sajid, a resident of Chak 61 JB, was brought to a private hospital on Jhang Road where doctors performed a surgery on her.
However, during the operation her family was asked to shift her to a bigger hospital due to complications with the procedure.
However, the victim died on the way.
Thikreewala police reached the spot and took the body into custody, starting legal formalities.
Meanwhile, a man reportedly committed suicide in the area of Millat Town police station.
Officials said 65-year-old Farhat Mehmood of Chak No198-RB Munnianwala allegedly cut the veins of his arm over unknown reasons.
The body was handed over to his relatives for burial after completing necessary formalities.
