On November 10, a video appeared online alleging that cosmetics brand Sephora made donations to Donald Trump’s campaign. The video, posted by TikTok user @karriemarie4, was titled, “Let’s see who did and DID NOT make donations to the Trump campaign…”

Near the end of the clip, the statement “Sephora BIG BIG BIG DONATIONS!!” appeared, followed by: “I HOPE we all understand the assignment for this Christmas season.”

Sephora is a French beauty and personal care retailer under the luxury group LVMH. According to Opensecrets.org, LVMH itself did not contribute to the 2024 election, though individual members, employees, owners, or their family members supported Kamala Harris' campaign. While some donations went to Republicans, no direct link to Trump’s campaign was found.

Despite this, social media users reacted to the TikTok video’s claim that Sephora allegedly donated to Trump. For example, TikTok user @BreezePSCD humorously commented:

“I told my hubby Sephora was a big donor and he said is it because they supply his orange makeup?”

Others joined the discussion, sharing similar sentiments:

“Sephora could afford to donate money to Trump's campaign but couldn't afford to have one of their employees do a shade match for Trump's everchanging bronzer,” someone commented.

“Finding out Sephora donated to Trump campaigns is just… every day gets worse,” another added.

Another user expressed frustration, writing, “You know what absolutely kills me? @Sephora shoving beauty standards down women’s throats so we spend money on their pointless products just for them to turn around and donate THOUSANDS of dollars to the Trump campaign. WOMEN STOP SUPPORTING THIS WOLF IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING.”

Many criticized Sephora further and even suggested boycotting the brand.

“I’m sorry what?? @Sephora you donated millions to #trump!?! Oh f*ck no #boycott #Presidentialelection,” one user wrote.

Another user stated, “Just feel like you should know that Ulta rewards were always better. Now that you’ve been exposed as a corporate funder of Trump, we are done. Rouge be d*mned, @Sephora.”
