Underground rapper Jaydes arrested for allegedly stabbing ex-girlfriend

Jaydes faces attempted murder charges after allegedly evading authorities following incident with his ex-girlfriend.

Jayden Yen Dumont, known as Jaydes, an underground rapper from Broward County, Florida, was detained by authorities on November 10, in Oakland Park.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the 18-year-old musician faces a charge of attempted premeditated murder. Police allege that Jaydes attacked an ex-girlfriend with scissors and a box cutter after she refused his advances, causing injuries to her neck, arm, and back. He was subsequently booked into the Broward County Jail without a listed bail amount, and his arrest followed several days of evading law enforcement.

Following his arrest, Jaydes’ mugshot, depicting a bloodied nose and closed eyes, circulated quickly on social media, drawing significant reactions.

An Instagram account, ExposingJaydes, initially shared the victim’s detailed claims, including descriptions of her alleged ordeal. The posts revealed that Jaydes allegedly pursued and assaulted his ex-girlfriend, prompting her to hide and call 911. Although the account has since been deleted, the disturbing claims and online conversations continue to spark public interest.

Born in 2006 in Pompano Beach, Florida, Jaydes’ early life was heavily influenced by music, introduced by his Haitian, Puerto Rican, and Dominican heritage. He began his musical journey with piano lessons and local talent shows before moving into beat production and recording his own music.

Jaydes’ unique blend of R&B, hip-hop, and electronica quickly gained attention on SoundCloud, leading to collaborations with artists like Yung Fazzo and Rich Amiri. His self-produced EPs, including ‘Romanticism Heartpacing,’ explore themes like heartbreak and youth, resonating with his dedicated fanbase.
