Ashanti and Nelly share first months of parenthood with baby son KK

Ashanti and Nelly reflect on their journey as new parents to baby Kareem at the 2024 Baby2Baby Gala in L.A.

Ashanti and Nelly, who recently welcomed their first child together, opened up about their early months as parents during the 2024 Baby2Baby Gala in Los Angeles on November 9. The couple, who tied the knot in December 2023, shared their happiness and insights into life with their 4-month-old son, Kareem Kenkaide Haynes, affectionately known as "KK."

Ashanti, 44, expressed her joy, calling KK a “blessing” and saying she feels "insanely in love" with him, while playfully adding that Nelly, 50, has been getting more sleep than she has.

At the event, which marked Baby2Baby’s 13th year of providing essentials for children in need, Ashanti also noted that baby KK has inherited "daddy's temper."

The couple first announced KK’s birth in August, delighting fans with a series of Instagram photos where Ashanti showcased her postpartum journey. This milestone year for the Grammy Award-winning couple also included their engagement and wedding announcement, celebrating a new chapter filled with family and love.
