Security forces killed 10 terrorists in North Waziristan operations: ISPR
Security forces killed 10 terrorists and injured eight others in three separate operations in North Waziristan, according to a statement from the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on Sunday.
The ISPR detailed an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in the Spinwam area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s (K-P) North Waziristan district, where troops engaged a terrorist hideout. Following an intense exchange of gunfire, two militants were neutralised.
In a separate incident, security forces intercepted a group attempting to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the same area. “Troops thwarted the infiltration attempt, killing two terrorists and injuring two others,” the ISPR reported, adding that a sanitisation operation was underway to clear the area of any remaining militants.
Earlier, another IBO was conducted in North Waziristan’s Spinwam, resulting in the deaths of six terrorists and injuries to six others. The operation, based on intelligence regarding terrorist presence, also led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition from the site.
The ISPR highlighted that the eliminated terrorists were involved in various attacks on security forces and civilian killings.
